Adaptive Physical Education (APE) is designed to provide students with moderate disabilities an inclusive and supportive environment to develop physical fitness, motor skills, coordination, and social interaction through modified physical activities. This course focuses on improving students’ overall well-being by adapting exercises, sports, and recreational activities to meet individual needs and abilities. The goal is to foster a lifelong appreciation for physical activity while enhancing mobility, strength, flexibility, and teamwork skills.
Course Objectives
By the end of this course, students will:
Develop fundamental motor skills, coordination, and balance.
Improve strength, endurance, and flexibility through adapted exercises.
Participate in modified team and individual sports.
Learn the importance of physical activity for health and wellness.
Engage in cooperative activities that encourage communication and teamwork.
