About Culinary
The Culinary Arts course for students with moderate disabilities is designed to provide a hands-on, inclusive learning environment where students can develop basic cooking and food preparation skills. This course emphasizes independence, teamwork, safety, and healthy eating while providing students with the tools to build confidence in the kitchen. Students will engage in practical cooking lessons, nutrition education, and skills development to support future independence in meal preparation, food management, and hospitality settings. An added component is its community outreach initiative, where students prepare meals to support food-insecure individuals and families. Through this service, participants develop empathy and a sense of responsibility toward their community. Overall, the program fosters creativity, teamwork, and practical skills that students can use throughout their lives.
